| Words failed to capture the overflow that seemed to pour out of her heart as she gazed at her blank monitor screen. The light that emanated from her computer reflected deep pools of tears that she refused to let fall from the corner of her eyes thinking that it would contain her joy for a moment longer. She knew this wasn't rational thinking, but if she could somehow pause in this moment of happiness, if only for a moment, any brief respite from the constant feeling of hopelessness she had been drowning in for years was welcome. But she knew in her heart what her mind couldn't fully conceive. This was more than a moment. This was a change-your-life-forever kind of deal that made her want to twirl around and around like she did when she was 5 years old in her grandmother's backyard - a time when she remembered she was the happiest.
When at last she blinked, her tears created 2 shallow pools on the back of her hand which stood poised to type the story of her journey from the shadows into the light of redemption. She heard it described once that when a soul can no longer contain all her emotions, the body weeps. Such joy wasn't meant to be contained anyway. She wanted to shout at the top of her lungs that she had finally found Him - or was it the other way around? It didn't matter. What mattered was that she was no longer wrapped in the dark cloak of despair that tormented her for 5, almost 6 years - a haunting presence of her constant companion that she referred to as her life's shadow. After years of searching, who knew that the answers were right in front of her the whole time? This is her story.
| It’s only now that I’ve realized how long I’ve been living under a cloud of expectation. For years I’ve been in limbo waiting for something to happen - a life suspended. But life happens now; not tomorrow, but now. It seems that all we ever do is wait – wait for the next best thing. But the flaw in that is we miss out what’s best now because what we see in front of us is never good enough. Why is it never good enough? | | |
| Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, Let me stand I'm tired, I am weak I am worn Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near When my life is almost gone Hear my cry, Hear my call Hold my hand lest I fall Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears And the night draws near And the day is past and gone At the river I stand, Guide my feet, Hold my hand Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home ------------------------------- But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. ~Philippians 3:20-21
| Come close listen to the story About a love more faithful than the morning The Father gave his only son just to save us
The earth was shaking in the dark All creation felt the Father's broken heart Tears were filling heaven's eyes The day that true love died, the day that true love died When blood and water hit the ground Walls we couldn't move came crashing down We were free and made alive The day that true love died, the day that true love died
Search your heart, you know you can't deny it Come on, lose your life just so you can find it The Father gave his only son just to save us
The earth was shaking in the dark All creation felt the father's broken heart Tears were filling heaven's eyes The day that true love died, the day that true love died When blood and water hit the ground Walls we couldn't move came crashing down We were free and made alive The day that true love died, the day that true love died
Now Jesus is alive Jesus is alive Jesus is alive Jesus is alive Jesus is alive oh He is alive He rose again
When blood and water hit the ground Walls we couldn't move came crashing down We were free and made alive The day that true love died, the day that true love died
Come close listen to the story
